I'm proud of my boy

Adam changed a light bulb today, all by himself, without being asked, just because it was burned out.

I need to recognize that the competence and initiative he showed in changing the light bulb are the same qualities he demonstrated when he cut his own hair.

Which you did. Which is pretty darned impressive to me. I try to recognize things like that but still, when you are actually "the parent" it can be a lot harder than when you are the teacher. :-)
