Sad news
My mother, Grace Thiesen, passed away the evening of Aug. 31 after a massive hemorrhagic stroke. This came as a complete surprise; after her recovery from kidney failure in June, we thought she was in good health again.
At least she got to see her grandson Adam one more time.
I'd like to thank everyone who sent messages of support during Mom's illness in June. Your kind words meant a great deal to Mom and me.

So sorry
Do keep pictures of her around, and tell stories, hers and of her, to Adam. It will keep her alive for all of you, and you can remember the good times.
I always enjoy hearing stories about *my* grandmother, who died when I was 5, and I have very fond memories, even though some of them are *helped* by the stories.

I'm glad your mom got to see Adam, though. *hugs* for the hard time I know you're going through now. Almost anything one can say comes out sounding like platitudes, and I know just how those made me feel when my dad passed away. I _do_ hope for you that all the arrangements and everything goes easily, and that you get to have some quiet time to yourself to just feel all the things that you need to pass through this period. Hug Adam and Alta, and know you're loved for yourself by all of us...
*hugs*, many times over...
